To receive our services at your home, your doctor needs to contact us to make a referral. Once we receive the necessary information, our staff will verify your insurance benefits and obtain authorization for home care services.

During pregnancy

If you're having a high risk pregnancy, a nurse will visit you at home to...

• monitor you and your baby's condition
• watch for and manage preterm labor
• treat nausea and vomiting (morning sickness) or other difficulties
• treat pregnancy-related diabetes or high blood pressure

After childbirth

New mothers and their babies often need extra care after they come home from the hospital.

As you get ready to leave the hospital, your doctor or nurse will talk to you about your transition to home. That plan may include visits from OB Homecare nurses, who offer services like these:

• assessment and care of mother and baby
• pain evaluation and management
• education on infant care
• advice on infant feeding concerns (Our lactation consultants can help you with breastfeeding.)
• parenting, social and emotional support
• referrals to community services

After surgery (wound care)

Our nurses are specially trained in surgical wound care. They can...

• come to your home to make sure you're healing properly after a Cesarean birth or other procedure
• work with you, your doctor and family to develop a wound care plan
• teach you and your family how to help you recover from surgery
