Language Care Center Program

Photo of Language Care Treatment This program is available for persons with speech and language disorders, such as aphasia (a language impairment resulting from a stroke or brain injury, characterized by a struggle to say, read, write or understand words). The program uses images, animation, text and spoken words to help individuals make the connection between words and their meanings.

The program is clinically proven to improve natural speech. Many of those who have completed a traditional speech-language program have continued on and made progress using the Language Care Center Program later on. Improvements include a renewed ability to:

  • talk on the phone
  • manage independently in the community
  • order meals in restaurants
  • return to work, in some cases

The Lingraphica® device is loaned to the patient, and exercises are chosen by the speech-language pathologist based on individual needs.
